Other Canondale Bad Boy Options

Changes to the brake system is the only difference in the Bad Boy Al. The Tektro disc brakes are better for off-road riding as they remain clear of the mud, and give all-round higher braking power. For the extra money, this looks like a good idea.

The Bad Boy Deore is fitted with better gear components , and still 27 gears, but the superior Deore mechanism provides better gear changing and selection. It has rims that are more narrow and 35 mm wheels, with enough width to handle off-road biking, but a bit faster on the street.

The R-SLX  Provides  upgraded Shimano SLX gear mechanism delivering superior performance, although it only has 18 gears due to the replacment of the triple with a double chainset.  The  26 inch tires are switched out as well, providing better all around peformance on and off road.

The Bad Boy Ultra has Cannondale’s Stealth SL Headshock fork with the suspension module above the fork legs. This is a lighter design to a conventional suspension fork,  fitted with a lockout which you can use for high speed stability. In all other respects, it’s identical to the R-SLX.
